Inside Sales Engineer - Numatic Engineering

The Inside Sales Engineer for 80/20 Projects position ensures a seamless and superb customer experience from inquiry to engineering and build through delivery for 80/20 structural aluminum assemblies.
This is a key role for coordinating the team effort between marketing, sales, engineering, production, and customer service. Develop 80/20 (www.8020.net) projects from customer inquiry follow-up and schedule field sales engineering for on-site survey visits. Coordinate and follow-up quotes from customer service, as well as be an in-office technical resource. Support production in the assembly process: customer requirement clarification, design modifications, project timeline oversight, and hands-on for design for manufacture (DFM) improvements. After delivery, confirm customer satisfaction and investigate any new project inquiries.
Responsibilities:
Develop projects for 80/20 assemblies and component sales from inquiry follow-up
Create engagement with customers' daily 80/20 inquiries, make 30 phone calls/day
Verify project scope and schedule field sales for on-site surveys of assembly projects
Manage non-assembly projects from office and coordinate customer service quotes
Oversee process from customer approval of design to confirmation of order entry
Maintain customer engagement and confirm customer requirements are met
Coordinate communication between customer and Numatic customer service
Answer technical questions for customer service during the ordering process
Support production to ensure delivered systems match designed requirements
Translate designs to production and interface with customers for questions
Assist with hands-on assembly, as experience to improve future designs
Ensure a superb customer experience and maintain engagement for future projects
Confirm customer satisfaction soon after delivery of completed assembly
Investigate new projects during initial follow-up and establish timing of next projects
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Physics
Consultative approach to specifying manufacturing automation technologies
Entrepreneurial spirit with a drive to win, a self-starter who hunts new sales every day
Dedicated execution of an organized plan with short, medium, and long-term strategy goals
Personable, persistent, and persuasive to build long-term customer business relationships
Commitment to customer satisfaction, teamwork, personal and professional achievement
Effective verbal and written communication, listen well, and be coachable
Efficient computer skills to utilize CRM software for project tracking and follow-up
Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, Web searches, and cloud-sharing files
Respectful relationships, maintain confidentiality, and always act ethically
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, use phone many hours per day, and type emails
2-year technical degree acceptable with industry experience
Manufacturing environment experience is preferred
Early career candidates acceptable with internship or college experience
Numatic specializes in pneumatic, electronic, and robotic control systems
Includes Actuators, Valves, Air preparation, Vacuum, Fittings and Tubing Robots and end-of-arm tooling, Variable speed and servo motor controls, Structural aluminum applications, Electrical control panel components, Networking, Connectivity, RFID, Vision, Safety, Sensing, HMI, and PLC

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
