Senior Machinist

Position Summary for Senior Machinist:
Operates computer numerical control machines and conventional machines to fabricate parts. Loads parts in machine, cycles machine, detects malfunctions in machine operations such as worn or damaged cutting tools. Run production lots, communicate with co-workers regarding productions runs, and maintains safe, organized and clean work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Senior Machinist:
Sets-up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
Perform typical machine shop operations, manual and CNC
Assists with prototype work, deburr and other machining tasks
Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee.
Performs Setups on manual lathes/mills and CNC lathes/mills
Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.
Must be able to perform, but not limited to, the following tasks: milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing and sanding.
Perform inspection of machined products (including documentation of results).
Complete and maintain paperwork for parts.
Assist in other work areas, including but not limited to, performing surface and center- less grinds drill and tap and sand blasting.
Perform all other duties, as assigned.
Complete all required documentation such as time cards, work orders, preventive maintenance logs, etc.
Perform tasks for other work centers as requested in order to accommodate customer requirements and workflow within the plant.
Actively participate in work center and cross-functional process improvement teams.
Follow all work center and LMI production, administration, and safety policy procedures, including work schedule and overtime requirements.
Attend and actively participate in all required training.
Required Skills for Senior Machinist:
Must have working command of the English language, and be able to communicate orally and in writing (basic oral instructions, simple written memos and instructions).
Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow work travelers, use simple math to perform basic calculations, and use basic inspection hand held measuring tools.

Education Required:
High School Diploma or graduation from certified technical school.
Experience Required:
Minimum 4 years related experience. Background in prototype, deburr, and general machining experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
